Title: The High Priestess
Characters: Olivia Benson, female OC
Prompt: Yahtzee / picture of a young woman visiting a church/temple
Words: 256
:::
Inwardly churned up, Olivia opened the heavy door of the temple. Three months the sect had dictated her work; many ups and downs, many nightmares. Time to bring it to an end.
At first view, the temple looked like a refuge for lost people, and even Olivia, who had been working for the Special Victim Unit for some time already, hadn't doubted the good intentions of the High Priestess at first. What happened in the darkness of the underground, though, was more cruel than everything she had seen before.
The light in the temple was dim. The young priestess knelt in front of the altar; her gown golden, with a black, transparent cloak. Her hair covered by a halo. Eyes closed, the face unmoved; only her lips whispered words, no one but herself was able to hear.
Olivia stepped closer. Hard to believe how much evil was hiding behind this mask.
„Detective Benson!“ The priestess opened her eyes; green-brown and calm, she looked at her. As if nothing had happened.
„I arrest you for murder, kidnapping, and abusing of at least ten people,“ Olivia said, suddenly feeling sad. Not every solved case was a win. „Everything you say from now on can be used against you. Do you understand this?“
The priestess got up, an almost invisible smile on her lips now. „I have nothing to hide; all I did, I did for the God I believe in,“ she said. "He is the only one who will judge me when the time is there."
