Title: Conflict of Conscience
Character: Sister Agnes
Words: 124
Prompt: Invisible
:::
When Sister Agnes rushed through the Vatican Palace floors, it felt like she was invisible to the cardinals. All of them gathered together to elect the new pope. Thinking about this, she knew it was not her business; she was only one of the Sisters, supposed to serve God and the cardinals while they were in the palace.
Maybe her thoughts were heretical, but God had given her ears and eyes and the things she got to know because no one would ever notice her presence disturbed her. Because she knew that if she didn't dare to overstep her lines today, something she hadn't even thought about since she joined the monastery at nineteen, the wrong one would end up as the Holy Father.
