Zeke stopped dead when he noticed Casey sitting at his usual seat on the bleachers. The boy was a geek, with healthy lunch boxes made by his mother and the photo magazines he devoured, that was out of question. But... knitting? Which eighteen-year-old highschool boy would spend his lunchbreak knitting?
It was as if Casey finally noticed him watching stunned; he suddenly looked up and smiled. „Hey.“
Zeke smirked. „New hobby,“ he asked.
Casey laughed, hilarious as ever. „It's for a good cause. Usually, my mom is knitting warm socks and sweaters for the social station's yearly advent bazaar. But unfortunately she slipped on the stairs and broke her arm last month. The doc says she needs to take it slow; no needlework for a while. So..., “ he pointed at the colorful, half-finished sock on his lap. „I do my best to help out.“
„You are such a golden boy, Casey.“ Shaking his head Zeke turned away, rushing down the stairs to his usual place for business. But deep inside, he was smiling.
