Title: The Discovery of Fear
Characters: Adalind Schade
Prompt: 7 days, 7 stories / fear
Words: 286
:::
Shaking all over, despite the stormy weather not caring about a coat, Adalind left the house, well knowing that she would never come back here. She was grown up with the knowledge that being a Hexenbiest made her one of the most powerful Wesen on earth. There weren't many who could turn into a danger for her; she could control most of them with only a snip of her fingers. And how much she had enjoyed this.
Cold rain hit her face, making her shudder. A first wave of fear crept through her body. A new feeling. Never before had she felt so helpless, so alone. Not longer was she part of the game. The beast turned into a weak woman. A human, weak woman.
It felt like a nightmare, but she knew she wouldn't wake up from it. She had been careless, though she should have known better. Never underestimate a Grimm! How often had her mother warned her? She hadn't listened; had been deceived by his handsome facade, by his eyes, which sometimes looked so warm and gentle, and by his smile, which he never showed her.
Full of excitement, she had waited for the fight... and then she had lost. She had known it the moment she could taste his blood on her lips. The blood of a Grimm was the end of every Hexenbiest. Tonight, she had lost not only her power but also her family, her friends, her whole life. Forced to spend the rest of her time alone because she didn't belong anywhere.
She ignored the tears burning in her eyes, another new experience, and she started walking aimlessly down the road. Soon enough, the darkness had swallowed her up.
