Even after years, he sometimes still visited him in his dreams. Smaug, the Golden, the Lord under the Mountain, the Terrible, the Tremendous, the Magnificent. So many names Bilbo had given him once, and all of them true. He would never forget the moments together with the dragon, deep under the mountain, in its hidden cave. Moments of fear and awe.
Despite all the cruelty and mercilessness of the enormous creature, Bilbo hadn't been able to overlook its beauty and uniqueness. His heart still hurt when he thought about it, that all this was gone forever. The times of the old dragons of Middle-earth were over. And a part of him would always regret that.
