Title: Not the best idea
Character: Kurdy Malloy, Elizabeth
Words: 225
Prompt: love at first sight
:::
The candle on the table was almost burned down, but Kurdy couldn't take his eyes away from the woman beside him. Elizabeth, pretty, smart, funny. For him, it had been love at first sight, but he had never dared to hope that she would feel the same way.
When she kissed him for the first time some weeks ago, his heart almost stopped beating. But she had laughed, and her brown eyes had sparkled mischievously. „You are afraid of a tiny, fragile woman, Kurdy Malloy,“ she had teased, pulling him down on her bed.
She wasn't fragile or tiny but the strongest, bravest woman he had ever met, and he was almost afraid to touch her. Because he knew that, afterward, he would never be able to let her go again.
She opened her eyes and smiled. „Why don't you come back to bed; we still have some hours before I will have to go.“
He slipped under the blanket and felt her warmth while pulling her into his arms. Inwardly, he was shaking. Some more hours, and he would have to let her go without knowing if he would ever see her again. A thought that tormented him all the time when she was not around. Falling in love in a world like this was not the best idea. But how could he not?
