Zeke placed a colorful cocktail and a Heineken on the table, watching his boyfriend with a secret grin. His first time in one of the famous nightclubs in Akron; this was so different from the pubs in Herrington they visited now and then. Always on the watch not to overstep the lines of friendship because a coming out in a small town in Ohio would have ended with the biggest scandal. But tonight, they were free. „Hey, do you have fun?“
Casey turned around, his eyes sparkling with excitement. „This is so cool. They have two dancefloors. And have you seen the neon lights formed like instruments on the wall? There was a girl standing in front of them, acting as a dirigent.“ He giggled. „That was a tiny bit geeky.“
„Well, not everyone can be a hot guy like you are,“ Zeke teased him.
„You think I am hot?“
„In your tight jeans and the purple shirt you wear today? Yup. Though, to see you without your camera around your neck feels kinda strange.“
„Maybe next time I could bring it with me. Mr. Brown always encourages us to take photos of all the unique places we come along. This instrument wall would be...“
„No shit, Casey. I was only joking!“
The boy noticed Zeke's almost shocked face and burst into hilarious laughter. „Calm down; I won't waste my hard-earned freedom by thinking about a boring photo project for school.“ He took a sip of his cocktail and happily smacked his lips. „C'mon, dance with me.“
„What??“
„This is a club, Zeke, and I want to have fun tonight.“ Casey turned to the dancefloor next to them, starting to move in the rhythm of the music. „Come and dance with me!“
