She smiled, and her face in the mirror smiled back. A bit too sarcastic, she thought, not seducing like the cheerleaders always smiled. No, even she would change her always dark clothes into colorful dresses, she would never pass off as one of them.

So, why had Stan Rosado, the hottest football player she could imagine, looked at her today in a way he usually only looked at Delilah Profitt, the famous cheerleader queen?

„Gone forever.“ Casey laughed. „I'm not the boring highschool geek any longer but a student at Columbia.“

„So, you don't regret your decision to move to New York?“

„For sure not.“ Casey shook his head. „Though I miss my family. And you, of course.“

Zeke looked into hilarious sparkling eyes, and it took a load off his mind. Casey might have changed outwardly, but some things would always stay the same.
