shine – 28 words
The night was cold; a full moon was shining, turning the surroundings into a faint, blurred world; Sam shuddered and sneaked closer to Frodo, to keep him warm.

monotony – 36 words
It was an endless walk through a monotonous world of stones, no sign of life, even the sun seemed to hide, but Sam walked behind Frodo without complaining, ready to catch him if he was stumbling.

camp – 49 words
„We should camp here for the night,“ Sam suggested, “at least there will be some shelter against the rain,“ but Frode only shook his head silently, an effort almost too much; he knew, if he allowed himself some rest he would probably not be able to stand up again.

blush – 39 words
Sam blushed nervously when he felt Gandalf's eyes resting on him; he liked the old wizzard but preferred not to get into his radar because already the Gaffer had warned him that this could only end in trouble.

key – 45 words
When Sam found the key to the old chest, he wasn't sure if he wanted to find out more about the secrets hidden there; the long way to Mordor together with Frodo had taught him that sometimes it was easier not to know all.

sacrifice – 25 words
It had never been a question; Sam would have sacrificed himself without hesitation if this meant that Froro would make his way to Mordor unharmed.

troll – 49 words
Sam had always loved to hear stories about the trolls, and he had been so excited to see the stone trolls of Mr. Bilbo, but then he had met a living one in the depth of Khazad-dum, and all his romantic phantasies burst in a split of a second.

flashlight – 39 words
When Frodo told him that he could feel Sauron's eye resting on them like a flashlight, without a chance to escape, for the first time the thought crept over Sam, that maybe they would never see the Shire again.

music – 40 words
Sam loved to sit somewhere in a corner where no one would take any notice of him, listening to the music of the elves; so different from the cheerful songs he knew from the Shire, but yet so breathtakingly beautiful.
