„Life is like a wheel of fortune, my grandma used to say. Sometimes you will have luck in career and love but always keep in mind that the wheel will never stop rolling. Only one day later, things might have changed again. Which actually is not a bad thing. Because this way, your life will always be full of surprises.“

Zeke smirked. „Sounds as if your grandma was a little bit geeky.“

„I'm sure she would take this as a compliment,“ Casey laughed. „Sadly, I can barely remember her, but my mom says I am very similar to her. She always did believe in the good of the world, even when times were hard. And when people thought that her love for my grandpa was a scandal because she came from a good family and he was only a cobbler, she married him anyway and proved them wrong. She was a very special person.“

"Like you are!" Zeke bent forward for a fleetingly kiss. „I guess I would have liked her.“
