Smith was shaking all over, cowering on the ground, not aware of the cold rain falling down on him.
God had sent him here, but the message had been as mysterious as ever, and he had been too late, again. The old barn already fully ablaze, the dense, biting smoke in the air, desperate cries reached his ear. With a mixture of helpless anger and despair, he had stared at the scenario before he finally broke down, weeping silently.
On days like these, he hated it to be God's messenger; but he learned to accept it that there was no escape, not for him. If he declined to accept his fate, the world would be doomed.
