Title: Falling in love
Character: Julie, mention of Luke
Challenge: Fandom Battle (FFFC) / distance (100 Fandoms)
Word Count: 244
Finished: 02.04.2021
:::
Julie couldn't stop thinking about Flynn's words. “Something is going on between you two,” her best friend had told her right after the gig at the school’s gym. She had denied it because it was just too ridiculous. Strange enough, that she was so close to three ghosts, living in her mom's old studio. That she played music with them, and after almost a year of mourning about her mother finally started to feel whole again. But falling in love?
Okay, Luke was cute, cuter than every boy she had ever met before; he was smart and funny and a talented musician. His brown eyes could sparkle so full of mischief, but sometimes, when he thought that no one took any notice of him, he looked thoughtful and sad.
Then she felt the urge to pull him into her arm, holding him tight. But this was not possible. Because, even if she could see him, could hear him, he was still a ghost. Untouchable. She would never hold his hand, never feel him, never kiss him. They could be a great team on stage, but never a couple; they could never do all the wonderful things young people in love did. Together, but still on distance.
No, falling in love with him wouldn't be very smart. In the end, he would go, and she would be the one left behind again. Just, why did her stupid heart beat quicker whenever she thought about him?
