When Casey opened his eyes, it was still early in the morning. He needed a moment to recognize his surroundings. This was not his room; it was his best friend's garage. They met here for a movie and a pizza almost every weekend. But the TV screen was black; some remaining pizza was still in the box on the small table. And deep, even breaths told Casey that the boy beside him was still sleeping.
„Shit,“ he yelled and jumped up, only to start to shiver instantly. It was freezing cold in the garage.
Zeke opened his eyes and yarned heartily. „Huh? What's wrong?“
„We did... I did...,“ Casey stammered. „Oh God, did we fall asleep last night? My parents will kill me! You know, they expect me to be home at least at eleven o'clock.“
„Hey, calm down. They are not around this weekend, aren't they? Will come back later in the afternoon. By then, you will be back home.“ Zeke stretched his arms and cursed slightly. „Damn, the heating still doesn't work properly. Come back under the blanket, I will warm you up.“
„You can't be serious!“
„So you prefer freezing to death? How should I explain this to your parents?“
„Shitass!“ Casey huffed. „I prefer to go home. For sure, I won't cuddle under one blanket with my best friend.“
Zeke laughed. „But you already did all night long, and I haven't heard you complaining.“
Funny to see Casey blushing.
