„What's this supposed to mean?“ Casey stared at his boyfriend, confused. „You are going to open a restaurant?“
„Not a restaurant; more diner with an extended menu. We will offer the usual, plus some delicacies from Russia. I already found the perfect place for it. Remember the old pub near the city college of Akron; it's been closed for some months. All the students are left dry and high.“
„Russia delicacies?“ Casey chuckled. „My grandma would have loved this. Did you know that her family has Russian roots?“
„ I know! Your mom told me. She also told me how much she enjoys cooking the old traditional recipes from your grandma, but there are hardly any good opportunities for this. That's a shame, your mom is good cook.“
„Huh,“ Casey huffed, surprised. „You and my mom; since when you are so close?“
Zeke laughed. „Last week, I was here early, and you were still busy with some photo stuff for Delilah. Your mom offered a coffee, and we started to chat a bit. She got into rhapsodies about her own restaurant, which she wanted to open when she was younger. Reminded me of you and your dreams about going to art school in New York one day. The same passion for something you love.“
The smile on Casey's face vanished. „Understand. And now you want to tell me that it is much wiser to stay realistic because pipedreams usually don't come true?“
„Nope. More the opposite. I believe in you; you are a good photographer, and by visiting the best art school, you will get brilliant.“ Zeke shrugged. „The same goes for your mom. She should go for her dreams instead of working at a shabby pub like the Coyote.
She and I would be a great team. I have the money to open the diner, and she has the cooking skills to make it famous.“
Casey stared at him with his eyes wide open. „You can't be serious!“
Zeke grinned. „I never make jokes when it comes to a good business. All I need is your help to convince her!“
