I started this table some years ago and then dropped it. While revising my journal in January 2025, I stumbled over it, and suddenly, the thought crossed my mind that it might be fun to continue with it.
So, here we go... even if I can't say if I will ever complete it.

Title: Peace of mind
Characters: Agent Patterson, mention of Jane Doe
Rating: PG
Words: 200
Challenge: Peace of mind
Finished: May 2017

:::

When the team left the laboratory in a hurry, Agent Patterson leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes. Only some minutes of rest before she would go back to her task.

The last tattoo she had decrypted only one hour ago. A spread eagle, a moon, and some hieroglyphs whose meaning had been a pretty nice challenge. Finding the solution had cost her almost two days without much sleep.

It's not the first time that this happened. Since Jane had appeared from close to scratch, without any memory of her past, every part of her body covered with mysterious tattoos, she didn't get much sleep anymore. From the very first moment, she felt attracted to the young woman. Despite her strange situation being so strong, she moved on without complaining. Wildly resolved to find out the truth, no matter the consequences.

Only sometimes, the shell she had built up around her got some cracks, and uneasiness and sadness were sparkling in her eyes.

Then Carol wished she could give her back her peace of mind to make her smile again. But all she could do was to do her job as best as possible.

Title: Comfort
Characters: Patterson, Jane Doe
Words: 100
Rating: PG13
Challenge: Alone
Finished: May 2017

:::

Patterson noticed the sadness in Jane's eyes and didn't need to ask for the reason. Again the young woman had hoped to find out more about her past; again the answer to the riddle just had raised even more questions. So hard to imagine how alone she had felt since the day she had been found at Times Square, without memories, naked, covered with strange tattoos.

Later, Patterson couldn't say what had gotten into her, but at this moment, it felt like the only thing she could do to offer at least some comfort. She bent forward and kissed her.

Title: All in Vain
Characters: Kurt Weller, Jane Doe
Rating: PG
Words: 100
Finished: May 2017

:::

The result of the DNA test said that with a 97% safety Jane Doe was Tylor Shaw.

Kurt Heller had hoped this would give all of them back some peace and quiet, but he felt deeply confused instead.

Everyone, first of all, he himself, had blamed his father for kidnapping, even killing the young girl all the years. For him the rehabilitation was too late; cancer would end his life soon enough.

And Jane? She didn't look relieved, either, still a lost soul without a past. A name alone couldn't give her back all the time she didn't remember anymore.

Seven Minifills

Prompt: by the light of the moon

Sam opened his eyes when Dean suddenly stopped the Impala, „What's wrong,“ he asked, alarmed.

Even in the faint moonlight, he could see the embarrassment on Dean's face when his brother answered.“It's nothing, go back to sleep.“

And realization his Sam; the moon, surrounded by dark clouds, a silent, almost peaceful night, like it had been when Dean had been lying in his arms, dying.

Prompt: tired
The 1967 Chevrolet Impala rolled through the darkness; another night, another ghost he was hunting ... John threw a glance into the driving mirror; his two sons in the backseat, as ever; Sam was asleep, smiling in his dreams, but Dean was stubbornly fighting his tiredness, as ever when they were on the road he wouldn't allow himself to close his eyes until his father did and suddenly John hated himself for all he did to his sons.

Prompt: Benny/Samandirel , I can't
"No! I can't let you go without even trying to save you," the vampire said and kissed the dying angel.

Prompt: Dean/Crowley - comfort
Who had ever thought that a demon could give him some comfort? But he clung to him and cried.

Prompt: Crowley+/any, drinking
Crowley stared at the drink in front of him. He could still remember the evenings together with demon!Dean and he knew this would never change till the end of time.

Prompt: 1 sentence = silence
Dean hit the pedal to the metal, a desperate try to distract himself from the silence in the Impala; he needed to forget, at least for a while, that Sam was gone and that he would probably not come back this time.

Prompt: 25 words (or the multiple of it) = wall sex
Sam did wake up startled, shaking, gasping for air. He could still feel his lover's strong hands, pressing him against the wall, taking possession of his body. Gabriel, the trickster, the fourth archangel. Dean insisted that it was better not to trust him, but Sam couldn't get him out of his head.

When Zeke opened the door to the apartment, he could hear the TV running. For a split second, he felt relief; he had learned to live with the always-existing danger of Casey's job without thinking too much about it, but it was always good to know that he was back in one piece.

„Hey, babe,“ he called, dropping his backpack on the kitchen counter before entering the living room.

Casey was sitting on the comfortable couch, knees up, with a blanket pulled over him. On the table, he had a bowl of popcorn and a glass of soda in front of him. The YouTube video flickering over the screen was about baby pandas and their mothers.

Oh, cute animals, it was that bad. Zeke cringed inwardly while he bent down and gently kissed Casey on the cheek. He knew well enough that he wouldn't endure more at the moment.

A weak smile sneaked on Casey's lips.
„Hey. I've missed you.“

„Me, too.“
Zeke dropped onto the couch beside him, putting an arm around his shoulder.
„You okay?“

Finally, Casey turned his head to face him; he was pale, with dark rims around his eyes. He hadn't slept much in the last few days.

„I will be,“ he murmured, resting his head on Zeke's shoulder.
„Now, where you are here. Just hold me for a minute.“

Half an hour later, in the bathroom, Zeke had convinced Casey that a hot bath and a massage might be a good idea before he had a light meal and then went to bed early.

„This okay,“ he asked while his hands kneaded Casey's stiff, tense muscles.
„Tell me when it hurts too much.“

„You can't hurt me,“ Casey murmured, his eyes closed.

„Do you wanna talk about it,“ Zeke asked, though he wasn't sure if he wanted to hear more. It always was hard to endure, and to think that Casey could only tell him bits of the truth had already caused him more than just one nightmare.

„I will never get used to it when children are involved in the case,“ was all Casey said.

Zeke swallowed. Pictures were crossing his mind. Horrible picture Casey had taken. Because this was his job as a member of a special force from the FBI. Profiler; they only got the cruelest cases where most others had already given up. For about two years, Casey had been working for them as a photographer.

Zeke hadn't been able to understand his decision at first.
„FBI,“ he had asked, feeling flabbergasted.
„You can't be serious.“

„What's wrong with it?“
Casey had huffed, annoyed.
„It's an important job. The BAU has been very successful for years already, and they want a good photographer on their team. I'm brilliant.“

„Jetting around the world from one murder to the other? Hunting psychopaths? That's not you!“

„So, what do you expect me to do? Jetting around the world for a traveling magazine? That I do photo shoots of celebrities?“
He had looked at Zeke with tears, begging for understanding.
„That's not me, Zeke. It would be a waste of my talent. I have the chance to make the world a bit better place. How can I say 'no' to that?“

And Zeke had pulled him into his arms and accepted that Casey had to do what he had to do. For two years, he was a part of the team. The team. Hotch, the team leader. Derek, a smart and funny guy. Rossi, he had taken Casey under his wings at first, like a father. J.J. The only one in the team with an ideal relationship; she even had a baby. Reid, the youngest, besides Casey. He had a brilliant mind, and he had three doctor's degrees. Or were it already four? Penelope Garcia. A computer genius, the good soul of the team. Casey loved her, and of course, she was as geeky as he was.

At first, Zeke felt some jealousy when he noticed that they welcomed Casey heartily as the new member of their selected company. He seemed to spend more time together with them than at home; there were secrets Casey would never share with him. And Zeke had felt left behind, alone, and afraid that he would lose Casey. Today he knew better; Casey's job hadn't come between them, it had brought them even closer together.

„I love everyone on the team,“ Casey had told him one day.
„We are family. Only when we stand together are we able to do this job? We can trust ourselves blindly. We know what the other is thinking even without words.“

He paused and chuckled slightly.
„Well, they are the profiler. I'm just the photographer. But I'm a part of the family and proud of it.

But, Zeke ...“

Slowly, he grabbed Zeke's hand and entwined their fingers.
„Without you, I wouldn't be able to do all this. You make me strong enough for every new case. You don't blame me when I have to leave in the middle of the night head over heels; you help me pack and drive me to the airport. You never complain because of missed anniversaries or canceled weekend trips. You even go to Herrington for my mother's birthday because I'm not around.

But knowing you will be there when I return home is the most important thing to me. It keeps me going, no matter how difficult the circumstances of the case are.

I know it's not always easy for you, and I can't thank you enough for not giving up.“

Zeke had pulled the face; too many emotions to deal with it.
„Shut up, geek boy,“ he had snarled.
"Just shut up."

Casey had smiled.
„I love you!“

Finally, Zeke ended the massage.
„Water is getting cold,“ he said.
„Get dressed. A salad with toast is already waiting for you in the kitchen. And then: bed. You need some sleep, at least 10 hours. I will take care of it that no one disturbs you.“

Title: Nightmares
Fandom: Criminal minds
Characters: Penelope Garcia, Derek Morgan
Prompt: Penelope Garcia + Derek Morgan, calling just to hear his voice.
Word Count: 302 words
Rating: R

:::
It was still dark outside, but the phone didn't stop ringing. Drowsy Derek grabbed it, inwardly hoping that someone had dialed the wrong number instead of a new case. He still had to fight with the aftermath of the last one.

"Morgan."

Soft sniffing alarmed him.
"Hello? Who's there?"

"You are still alive."

At one stroke, he was wide awake.
"Baby girl? Are you okay?"

There was a long pause, then barely suppressed sobs.
"Sorry, I needed to call just to hear your voice."

Still unsure of what was happening, hearing her in that state tugged at his heartstrings. They shared a special bond; Penelope Garcia was the most wonderful woman he had ever met. While many people would call her geeky or slightly eccentric, she was brilliant and warm-hearted to him. Her happiness and confidence helped him through even the most problematic cases.

"I will come by," he told her.
"Just give me half an hour."

"Don't," she answered quickly, and the panic in her voice slowly faded away.
"It was a hard week; you need some time to rest.

I'm fine. It's just a nightmare. I will have a glass of wine and then go back to sleep."

Nightmares—Derek knew well; all of them knew. It was part of the job. They were well-trained, and psychologists were available around the clock to support them. But sometimes, it just wasn't enough. He thought about the pictures they had sent to Garcia—pictures of unknown children fouled up beyond recognition, and she had given them a face again, a name.

And there was nothing that could hold him back for longer.
"Just thirty minutes, baby-girl," he said.
"You have the wine; I'll bring the pizza. Sounds like a date."
