Title: Alone Again
Character: Mr. Smith
Word Count: 138
Prompt: Separation
Rating: PG13
:::
Sleeplessly, Smith tossed and turned around on the small bed of the isolation ward. He missed the cafeteria and its muffled noises, he missed Erin's smile and the friendly words she always found for everyone, and he missed Kurdy, though the grumpy guy still refused to accept that he was his partner now.
After being on the road alone for so long, just him and the voice in his head, who insisted that he was his messenger now, Smith had gotten used to it, that others were either afraid of him or called him a weirdo and beat him up. But then, God had sent him to the Mountain, and it felt as if he finally had found a place to stay, a home, friends.
Tourmented, Smith closed his eyes. No, he was not afraid of dying because of a stupid virus, but he was afraid of being alone again.
