Teamwork? With Delilah Profitt, the chief of the cheerleader group from school?
Stokely cringed inwardly. This could only end in a disaster. As much as she liked physics and didn't mind the extensive homework the students usually got from their new teacher, as much she disliked Delilah.
Delilah was a bitch, thinking that she was the queen and everyone else had to follow her wishes. Most of the others did without complaining; the boys were stupid enough to fall for her faked smile, and the girl would have done all to get her attention. To belong to Delilah's circle made you popular, and no one would dare to look down on you.
Stokely had never cared about being famous; she didn't mind that others called her a lesbian gothic bitch. Actually, she even enjoyed her outsider status because it meant not being bothered by others when she preferred to be alone.
She looked up when Deliah stepped closer, watching her up and down with cold eyes. „I'd better tell you straight away; I'm pretty busy at the moment. I need to organize the party for the team next month. And there is this article for the school's magazine which is due on Thursday.“ She sighed theatrically. „I already talked to Mr. Furlong, but he says we must find a way to finish the homework in time or accept the consequences. What an ignorant he is. How can he dare to...“
Stokely rolled her eyes. „I can do it,“ she interrupted her. „I don't mind to do the double work on my own.“
Delilah eyed her suspiciously. „And Mr. Furlong? I can't afford a bad grade; I want to go to fashion school next year.“
„He doesn't need to know.“
„Hm. Why should you do that? What do you want for doing this?“
Stokely smirked; of course, selfish as she was, she couldn't understand this. „Just do me a favor, Deliah, and stay out of my way.“
