Title: God's words
Character: Mr. Smith, Markus Alexander
Word Count: 200
Prompt: south
Finished: 10.04.2022
„You should better not send any men to the south!“
Suprised, Markus turned around, staring at the little guy, who had turned up on the doorsill out of the blue, wearing a thick coat, despite the pleasant warmth in the Mountain. „Smith? What are you doing here,“ he asked, his voice sharp.
„Trying to stop you from making a big mistake.“
Only for a short moment, the young leader felt out of words. „Listen, I am thankful for what you have done for Kurdy; not many people would risk their life for a stranger. You are welcome to stay for a night or two; Erin can assign you a room. But I need to ask you to leave my office now because this is none of your business. Or should I call the security?“
„No need for.“ The little guy grabbed for his backpack and shrugged. „My job is done. I have warned you. But even if you don't trust me, you should better listen to his words. Don't go to the south. It would mean death for many good men.“
Markus frowned slightly. „His words,“ he repeated.
„God's words. I am only his complaint messenger.“
