Sam stopped to take in the view right in front of him. The hills, the little hobbit holes, the trees in the orchard, endless meadows... it was as if the green around wanted to welcome him home. Like Rosie, who was waiting for him, with Eleanor in her arms.

He breathed in deeply. Home again. So familiar and comforting. Although his world was turned around because he had had to say goodbye to Frodo. Although he had been sure that he would never feel happy and lighthearted again.

He felt Eleanor's arms around his neck while she whispered: “Daddy, I've missed you.“ And he smiled, knowing that a part of his heart would never stop missing his beloved Master, but there was still so much good in his life.
