„Push the button,“ Zeke said, trying to hide the trembling in his voice.
Casey only shrugged. „I already did this twice. Seems, as if the elevator got stuck. Guess, we will have to wait.“
„Great. I knew it is not a good idea to visit the Key Tower.“
When the older boy pulled out his cigarettes, Casey frowned. „Wait. You don't want to smoke now?“
Zeke glared at him threateningly. „Helps me to calm down, okay? You don't want to be locked in here together with me when I'm freaking out right now.“
„Fine. If you want to cause a fire alarm. But I don't think that this will make our situation more comfortable.“ Casey laughed slightly. „C'mon, relax. I'm sure it won't last for long.“
Zeke forced himself to breathe deeply while he crumpled up the packet of cigarettes. „I hate elevators,“ he murmured. „Since I got stuck in one for over an hour when I was a child. I had a panic attack, even wet myself. And my dad...“ He paused, finally shrugged. „He was not amused.“
Casey blinked twice. „But why didn't you tell me?“
„Because I didn't want to ruin your day.“
