„Woah, that's amazing,“ Casey said, looking at the painting full of awe. Yes, the skull in the middle of it looked a bit macabre, but the flute in the mouth and the worn-out topper made him laugh, and the red tulips in the old glass beside the skull offered a nice contrast.
Zeke pulled his face. „You are here for homework, not to check out my place,“ he reminded him.
„Sorry.“ Slightly blushing, Casey turned around.“ Didn't mean to be nosy. But this painting is so cool. I wonder about the artist; there is no signature. Where did you find it?“
„Who says that I did?“
Casey blinked surprised. „What do you mean? It's impossible that you... you are the artist?“ He stared at the boy who was well known as the tough rebel of Highschool, the guy who never followed any rules, the dealer, the heartbreaker. Someone Casey had nothing in common with; they had barely shared a word before Mr. Furlong came up with this ridiculous team project for chemistry.
His eyes wandered back to the painting, and a grin sneaked onto his face. Hard to believe that in secret the king from school was such a talented geek.
Zeke dropped down onto the old couch, lighting a cigarette. „If you tell someone, I'm gonna have to kill you,“ he said, puffing out the smoke.
