„What did you do,“ Casey wanted to know,“ to convince my mom that a trip to Paris is a good idea?“
„You know, I can be prince charming.“ Zeke laughed. „But to be honest, she asked me. You are not very inventive when it comes to your birthday. Photo stuff, a book, a CD, but it's your 18th birthday, and she wanted something special.“
„Yeah, but a trip to Europe? This will coast a lot, and since she's out of work...“
„Don't worry, family of mine is a co-owner of the hotel we will stay. An exclusive suite, all for us alone, for free.“
„Why am I not surprised?“ Casey still didn't look very happy. „But it's still too much. Ontario would have been as great. I always wanted to go to Niagara falls.“
„We can go there next autumn. C'mon, Casey, relax, we will have a hell of a lot fun. The nightlife, the shows, and the casinos.“
Casey smirked. „You did convince my mom with an exciting nightlife and casinos?“
„Of course not. Paris is also the town for artists. The architecture, the museums, Montmarte. We can visit the flea markets and Père Lachaise. And you will take tons of pictures. I know you will love it.“
Slowly Casey's curiosity did wake up. „You know a lot about Paris. Were you already there?“
„Ages ago, with my nanny, when I was still a child. It's not a town you should visit with any Jane, Marie or Dick.“
„But with me? What makes me so special?“
Suddenly Zeke looked unusually serious, though he was smiling. „Paris is the town for lovers,“ he said.
Casey blinked; yes, they got along very well, they shared a lot of interests and had endless fun together; the sex was good... no, this was an understatement. It was the best time of his life. Zeke seemed to feel similar, though he never talked about it. He was not a guy who was thinking much about tomorrow; he enjoyed the moment. And love... Suddenly Casey felt tears burning in his eyes.
Until he felt Zeke's arms around him. „Hey, when you get sentimental now, I might change my mind!“
