Jenny closed the door of her trailer and dropped down on the old couch. The last hours had churned her up more than she had thought.
It was not the discovery of the young girl's corps at the beach; she had seen worse during her time working as a coroner of Toronto. But it made her realize that maybe it was time to face reality; one couldn't escape the cruelty of life forever. David was dead, Liam was dead, too. But her son was still alive, and her father needed her, too.
Time to go back to her old life.
