Though they barely talked during the days, every night Daryl was lying close to Beth to keep her warm, to watch her sleep; it was like an act of agreement that didn't need any words, but sometimes he was surprised by his own deep feelings, he was not used to it to care for others as he cared for her.
His rough childhood taught him early that it was much better only to trust oneself, and Merle had told him again and again that all that counted were booze, drugs, and sex with bad girls, rough and dirty sex without limits.
Beth was the most warmhearted girl he had ever met, and despite the circumstances, she still dared to dream about a better tomorrow; Daryl secretly dreamed about making love with her, not sex; no, it would be gentle and affectionate, and even if he would lose himself in her arms, he wouldn't mind.
