Link dropped down on a flat stone near the beach. It had been a long day full of hard work; the pirates were gone, but they had left Lurelin Village behind in chaos. It would still take some time before all residents could come back to live here in peace again, but the first stones had been laid.

He took another bite of the durian fruit and smacked his lips, it was so sweet and juicy. Nearby, two dogs were fighting over a bone, growling and barking at each other. Apart from them, the surroundings were silent. Only the wind in the palm trees and tiny waves splashed on the beach.

Link let his eyes wander over the endless sea to the sunset. What a fantastic sight! It reminded him of the first sunset he had seen on the island high in the clouds, the day he did wake up again. Not knowing where he was, not knowing who he was. But he felt the warmth of the sun on his skin. The trees were sparkling golden in the light, birds were singing, and for a moment, life had been peaceful and beautiful.

How much time has been gone since then? He couldn't say. He had a mission to fulfill: fight the evil, save Zelda, and save the world. Even if he had lost most of his memories, he knew that much.

The last sunbeams vanished behind the sea; darkness and cold took over the world. Link got up from his stone, the moment of comfort gone. He had been able to fight the pirates, he had helped to rebuild Lurelin Village, and yes, it felt good to see hope again in the eyes of the residents and to hear the children laughing and playing in the sand. Today, Landa had offered to build a house for him; a tempting thought, finally to have a place to stay, no longer traveling from one place to another.

But Link knew this was only a dream. He had learned over the time that peace was very deceptive. For a while, Lurelin Village might be safe, only a small town on the east coast of Hyrule, not of interest to Ganon. But the evil in the world was strong, and it gained more and more power with every day. It was about time for him to move on. Fight the monsters at other places.
