„I don't know what this bitch is thinking,“ Stokes says, her dark eyes sparkling fire.

Casey looked up from his schoolwork. „What's happened?“

„Delilah. Do I look as if I need style counseling by her?“

Hm. Casey eyed the girl, wearing her usual dark clothes; the shirt with an Albert Einstein print, the skirt a bit too long to be up-to-date.

„What?“ Stokely frowned when she noticed him hesitating with an answer. „Do you agree with her? Can I not go to prom in a dress of my choice?“

„You will go to prom?“ Casey blinked surprised.

„God, Casey, how can you be that shallow? I know, Delilah was your girlfriend, and you two are still pretty close, but I always thought you are able to have an own mind.“

„Oh, sorry, I didn't mean it that way. It's just...“ Casey paused, looking for the right words. „Well, I haven't thought, that you are interested in going to prom.“

To his surprise Stokely suddenly smiled. „Stan asked me this morning to go together with him.“
